Default Components and HU Power

i was just wondering if i'm just running HU power(Alpine CDA-9825, 18W x 4), is it okay to power alpine type-r components? I don't have the money for an amp right now, but at the same time, i don't want to waste my money and end up blowing the speakers.

speakers i want are http://www.audio4cheap.com/cus...16248

You'll get sound powered by the deck, but they won't sound very good with only 18 watts. Don't hook them up until you can install them properly and power them with an amp.

Then you're lucky. Underpowering speakers is what kills them.

The big problem with components is that they require a lot more power to be as loud as a coaxial so as a result you have to crank up the volume on the deck in order to be decently loud. The problem with this is the more that you crank deck volume up the more it distorts. Distortion is bad

I wouldn't ever run components off deck power unless I felt like dealing with the warranty in the near future.

dont put them in until you can afford an amp, ooor buy the amp first. and install that on your factory speakers, gain it low and cross it over high.

You have a better likely hood of you factory speakers surviving being overpowered by a clean amp than the way you want to do it.

Look into another component set tho, there are better out there for the $$.
