Default component speaker setup question....

hey whatsup,
I'm planning on upgrading my component speakers and i've read on forums that it's best to just the two door panel speakers upgraded?? that the back speakers dont help out that much?? well, i just want a ride with nice sounds, im not taking the sub's avenue.

and generally, which speakers are good ? besides the high-end boston acoustics/mb quarts....... are infinity kapa's and/or pioneer speakers any good??

any help ? (=
Thanksss

MB are amazing although pricey for what you get, the rear spaekers dont really do that much if you have a good set of components and a sub or two to back them up. Best set up i have heard was a pair of 6" Polk Momo's in floor pods and a pair of Momo 10" subs set into a custum pan in the back. No rears but he did have very powerfull amps. The Polk Momo's i think are about $750 set front and subs $500 ish each.
Thanksss

ahh...that is not what i had in mind for components.... hm, if the backs dont help at all, i think i'll just upgrade the 2 door speakers...i was thinking in the range of 200-100...

If you havent got a sub then stick with the rears and have a look at MB, there are some for about $200 ish i think, what amp are you going to drive them with?

I was wondering where you guys read up on stereo stuff are their sites for stereo components like honda-tech? My car came with some mb quarts but the previous owner took the amp out along w/his subs when he sold it. What kind of amp would be good to drive component speakers?

I feed my component speakers 40W RMS each. That's with a high-pass crossover set at about 150Hz. I think it's sufficient for my needs.

I feed the rears 50W RMS each , but I don't think the amp and speakers are as good as what's up front...the fronts completely dominate the sound scene. The amp for the rear speakers has no crossover, so the bass is a bit much for the 6.5" 3-ways. I also have a sub getting 110W...that and the components alone make for a really nice sounding system. I had thought of upgrading the rear speakers/amp but its not really worth it.

You could try the standard Polk's, alot of people dont rate them but i had them before and liked them. The cheapest MB's are nice but you would have to check the prices!!!. Something else to think about is a head unit with three outs which will give you more control over whats going on with the source signal. This could be an option if you sold your current one? Difficult isnt it!, whenever i go out to buy a 6x9 or something i end up screwing my bank balance
