Planning to get mb quart component 6.5 inch speakers all the way aournd in my 97 civic hatchback. The speakes are rated at 70 watts rms and I plan to use a 4 channel amp at 60 watts per channel rms. I dont think I'll be using the tweeters for the rear speakers. The speakers have an option to integrate the tweeter and make it a coxial speaker. What do you guys think this setup will sound like? Decent amount of bass? I don't want a sub.

a 97 civic hatch. I have pioneer h/u with pioneer 3way speakers all around and they sound pretty weak. I've tried all adjustments with em and just can get em to sound right. the rears are 6x9's.
Is that a 4x60W RMS "off-board" amp, or the max HU wattage?
The front MBs are 70W continuous, the 6x9s are 50W continuous, I would be looking for a 4x75W RMS amp to drive them.
BTW, forget the tweeters in the rear, just use the woofers, tweeters in the rear will only mess up the imaging and sound stage.
FYI the MBs are not standard 6.5" speakers, [standard 6.5" speakers use a 5" mounting hole] the RVF 216 6.5" are "over-sized" 6.5" and need a 5.61" mounting hole, your Honda has a 5" mounting hole.

What are your recommendations? I want good bass without a sub. and the the mb 6x9 are the only component 6x9's out there that seems decent. Are the Pioneer components any good?
I drive 2 sets of Eclipse 6.5" coax, [about 7yr old] tweeters disconnected in the rear, with an Alpine CDA-7893, 4x60W, [4x27W RMS] in my 94LS, it was built as a demo car for what can be done without off-board amps or subs, [also because I wouldn't let them put anything else in as I autocross] I have been accused of having hidden amps and subs, [I do not], however extensive work was done to install the speakers.

The pioneer hu i have is 22w rms. I wanted to get a pioneer amp to push 60x4 continuous to a good set of speakers. I know that the front speakers are going to be hell to fit but what do you think? I can maybe use a 1inch adapter to give me more depth right? Other speakers you'd recommend besides eclipse?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with the MBs it's just IMO the Eclipse are better sounding, now if you were talking QSD 216... http://www.mbquart.com/en/produkte/car/qline/ that would be a diff. story.
I would also recommend Hertz speakers... http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm
or Dynaudio speakers... http://www.dynaudio.de/eng/aut...e7358
or Morel speakers... http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_audio.html
All very good speakers, [not cheap] and I don't believe any of them are a direct fit into your stock speaker locations, [mods needed], keeping in mind a proper speaker install is a must for good SQ, not doing so would be a waste of money on good speakers as you will not get top performance out of them.

nope. use all 4 channels on the amp just for the componets. Two channels for the woofers and two channels for the tweeters. And run your rears off the deck. Just loud enough for people in the back to hear.

you would need some form of an active crossover or a set of components that can be passively biamped. otherwise you're best option would be to bridge your 4 channel amp and use one channel for left and one channel for right.

You can do that with mb quart crossovers. That's how my setup is ran. They have dual imputs on them. You could just bridge them to but the other way you get more adjustability.
