You can use any switch really, mine was my cruise control button, but the main ? is what do you want it to cut, i.e fuel, starter, ignition? I had mine set up for ignition, if you want to make it easier just go to autozone (or your local repair shop) and pick up a toggle switch, one way is on and one way is off.

Yes, use a low resistance resistor say .05 ohms in series with the power lead. As current flows through the resistor it causes a voltage drop on the other side. Use a schmitt trigger to sense the change in voltage (Look it up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmitt_trigger ) to trigger your relay. A little beyond the basic do it yourself setup but entirely possible and relatively cheap (maybe $2 in parts). It really is a very basic circuit but depends on your skill level.

why not move your cigarette lighter switch to your glove box and leave the factory lighter working as normal? Then you dont have to open and close your glove box or have wires comming out of it for your devices.

I think it would have made more sense to put the kill switch in the glove box, but that's just my opinion...

ok well my reason for the setup is the only things i need to charge are my gps and ipod and i dont use it all the time, so instead of opening my glovebox pushing the lighter in, starting the car, pulling the lighter out, and closing the glove box EVERYTIME i want to drive somewhere. i have it set up so i only have to do that when i need something charged. plus i think someone would see me opening the glove box starting my car and closing it again

Can anyone help me wire a fuel cut using the AC button on my climate control?
Its a 1994 Civic HB. I would like the car to run if the AC button is on(lit), and fuel cut if the button is off (unlit).
I would love some specific instructions as I had my dash completely apart and was unable to make it work!
PM me if you can assist me
