i just bought a clarion cd player but i made the mistake of cutting my wiring harness and now it seems the only way i can connect the cd player is if my head lights are on. i dont have any memory or anything, and i think my head unit does not have a dimmer wire so the dimmer is not working. can somebody help me with this?

 

Just start again man, you should have one wire with constant power, and one which only comes on if the key is on. Your old head unit would definately have used these wires as well so if you can't find them you probably blew the fuse.
If your head unit doesn't have a dimmer wire just leave it disconnected.

 

splice the harness back in and go get a wiring harness. It is so much easier.
