so i just bought my teg today and when i got home, i realized that when the car is off, all i have to do is turn on the parking lights/headlights for it to play but i think someone messed the wiring up.

Can anyone point me into the right directiion on how to fix it? Thanks.

and, also are they parking lights suppose to come on like DRL's? because mine are like this. I think it looks nice but i just want to know if they're suppose to be like that.

 

Someone hooked up some wires wrong lol. Take the HU out and check the +12 wire and the ignition wire, see if they're hooked up right.

I believe they're yellow and orange.

Does the 12 V A/C plug always stay powered on or does it shut off when ignition is turned off?

If it shuts off with the ignition you can use a wire tap to use that wire for the CD Power, or that wire color should be the same color you are looking for else where to connect the CD to.

 

yeah. it stays on when ACC is on. It makes me mad. lol. i'mma pull it out today and see whats up.

 

ok on the bacothe deck, yellow is constant and red is switched 12 volt. i believe someone hooked on of the 2 wires to your orange wire which is illumination and that wire only gets power when you turn on the lights

 

so how should it be wired? orange/????

if your cd player has an orange wire hook it to the orange wire. do you have a plug n play harness? if so hooking up a deck is just color matching. if your stock harness is cut check out this site http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf let me know how it goes

 

well, i took my deck out today and the yellow to the harness and deck were together but then it was also connected to another yellow wire that leads to the battery?

i dont think the previous owner did not know what he was doing. so my dad suggested me going out to best buy so they can put in another deck that i have.
