Default can i do this...

Eclipse SW8122DVC this speaker runs at 4ohms (dual voice coil). can i run it at 1 or 2 ohm? i have a mono block 1000rms at 1 ohm but 400 at 4 ohms which is way to underpowered for this thing.

Modified by idriveadelsol7 at 11:48 PM 5/23/2005</TD></TR></TABLE>I don't see the sub on their site, http://www.eclipse-web.com so I assume it's an older one, but if it's a DVC 4ohm, you can wire the VCs in parallel so you get a 2ohm load, the amp should work with a 2ohm load. 94

cools...that's what i needed. my amplifier runs 400@4 ohms and 600@2 ohms and that sub requires 500. thanks

well i have 2 powerbase subs there 4 ohm, i can wire them at 2 ohm?

To figure out parallel impedence
1/(1/impedence1+1/impedence2+1/impedence3 + 1/ect......)
