put your car up on 4 jackstands each night, take off the wheels, remove the steering wheek and put some form of lock on the steering shaft, take the ecu, kill the starter, kill the fuel pump, put in window shades and tint to 5% (so they cant see in), hood locks, noisemaker (alarm), yeah that should pretty much do it.

Lo Jack is about $850, icludes installation. Another great idea that I have done is the fiel injector plug. Take them slightly off, but not connected to the injectors. The motor cranks, but will never start and they will be looking all over for a damn kill switch. They look like they are connected if you do it right.

Heh, they'll bring their own wheels. Good idea though.

If theives will pack ECUs, they'll pack tires as well.

I'm working on something that goes between the emergency brake and the shifter. Even if they get into your car, they won't be able to get it out of 1st gear, and they won't get the emergency brake down.

I remember another one.

Did you see "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis? He sprays some kind of repellent on his door handle when he's being followed by some hijackers. When they try and use the door handle they are infected with the repellent and start foaming at the mouth to have a siezure.

Maybe that was just movie magic.

On a note about the Saturns, those cars have the dent resistant door panels, and a lot of other parts that are worth a decent amount of money. Hence why they're stolen.

The gas pedal and the clutch would be the 2 pedals that you would want to put it on mainly.

Lo Jack isn't $850. My friend just got lo jack on his 2004 WRX and it was somewhere around $300 with no monthly/yearly fees. I was surprised. The reason why he got it is because his friend's Accord got stolen and wasn't found until the theft ring was broken up when they stole a car that had lo jack.

You don't have to get the official parking enforcement boot. They have a club like device for the wheel that covers the lug nuts. Someone said you need four but I can't justify more than two.

Be sure to check out the link a few threads up. The guy that made that site is incredibly wise and handsome. He's got a hot girlfriend and even the straight guys want a peek at his ***.

The consensus in these types of threads is "if they want it, they'll get it." Stupidest advice I ever heard and I don't know why this fatalist attitude is so pervasive. Is it supposed to be some kind of HT philosophy? My attitude is to be smarter than they are.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (maybe i should start doing that)

to poster, best thing is to get wheel covers or such what!! as everyone has been saying nothing beats the TOW TRUCK! even with what ever you take out, nothings gonna work with the TOW TRUCK! Get a GPS systems, cost you alot of cash but i am sure that when you call the pigs, and hand them that GPS device tracker, you'll get your car back! dont wase your time and money on sterring wheels that come off (vise grips works), <--there was a post on this awhile back, or you can just sleep in your car forever with a nice handy revolver (hence no evidence of shells on ground)! GL!!

Where can you get that wheel boot knock off thing? Does it prevent the car from moving? Or does it just protect the wheel itself from being stolen? How much are they?

i like the lo-jack idea, and the kill switch. I was gonna ask for ideas on where to put it, but i guess that pretty much makes it pointless.

so where can you get lo-jack at for cheap?

and does anyone have any more info on those deadbolts?

thanks

what did you have in mind... that sounds like a good idea, but how would you put it in? weld it to the floor?? that would be pretty obtrusive.
