Calling All Thieves!!!
Well this kid that lives near me (also with an EG) got his stolen last night. I am putting mine back together soon and am highly debating some form of anti-theft device for it (or 2 or 3 or 4). So everyone think like a thief and let me know what you think would be the best thing to get to protect my baby (from thieves like yourselves!).
thanks (you goddamn thieves... J/K)

off the top of my head:
1) alarm
2) starter/ignition/fuel kill
3) manual fuel kill switch
4) hood lock
5) reroute hood release cables
6) shave keyholes/disable trunk lock
7) autolock/club
8) removable steering wheel
9) take out ECU
10) pull fuses from under hood...
none of this will stop a thief with a towtruck.......unless maybe you buy wheel boots for all four wheels........

You don't even have to think like a theif to know it's a good idea to get some security for your car. Alarms, Kill Switchs, etc.. I would also look into getting a sticker with a picture of a gun and text saying "Now Don't **** Up." Makes em think twice

the deadbolt is an awesome idea, but can't the just break the glass?? or would that be too loud?...
The whole tow truck argument is why i never understood why people put those benen tow-hooke types that stick outta the fron and rear, it SCREAMS to be picke up.
Is there really some kind of tracking device?
I know all the different kinds, just seeing what would work THE BEST!
thanks guys

THe purpose of the deadbolt is to make the window the only way of getting in and out of the car. They will also have to deal with shattered glass while attempting to get inside and move around.

Hahha. The boot! That's a great idea. Put the boot on your car every time you park it.
I'm not being sarcastic either. The boot is free, well the parking tickets aren't free but...
I'd like to see a security system with a handgun mounted below the steering wheel hidden from view. When you enter the car you have to hit a number sequence or the gun fires right at your crotch. I guarantee you'll have fewer thefts if word gets out you lose your nuts and bolt doing it.

Kill switches, alarm, wheel boot, removeable wheel. All those are great deturrents.
Most theives don't go the tow truck route, but you never know. Honestly, if they want it badly enough, they'll find away, whether it's catching you with your guard down or taking it at gun point. Sad but true.

Heh, I think that would **** them off. So, if they don't get your car, they'll bash out a couple windows, and just vandalize it. Good idea though.

Ok so one person just mentioned it. So i shall...
VIPER GPS TRACKING SYSTEM
Worth every penny.. and it hooks into your alarm system. (If you have a DEI) So, you can actually shut your car down if someone takes off with it. To say the least of its good points.

As many have replied to this topic yes all of the suggestions are great ideas, well all but that razor one.But as many also said these will just be a help at slowing them down but if your car is worth it they will just keep going. Not to mention it depends on how many people are involved in the theft.

Heres what i've learnt after having my car since i was 14..
- Park always at the front ( If no parking spots, then i'm not parking it)
- I always park in well lighted areas at night
- Viper 330 esp alarm
- Fuel pump switch
My car stay's in the garage and we have cameras at my house.. Easy, Cheap and effective $150.00 investment.
Reguardless there is nothing that is going to stop the crooked ************* that steal and are going to steal your ****.
I try not to slip though..
Never be to protective..
I <3 my civic.

Most reasonably priced? I'd say a manual fuel kill switch with the switch hidden REALLY well. You can buy everything you need from Radioshack for a couple of bucks.........

remove fuses when ever you park it get lo jack like that really helps i think if these ******* really want your car they will get it some how. Hey get this ive had a 94 eg jacked from infront of my house at 10:30 in the morning found it stripped later that night but the one that really blows me away is they tried so hard to steal my 99 ek hatch one but they could not get it started so they towed it away it was caught on the mall security system but they still got away
stick razor blades on the insdie of door handles , inside the inner lining of your head unit , also inside the rear of your steering column etc..just anywhere these fucktards will "rip open" to steal something.
Sliced fingertips = no stealing anything at that particular time and a handy DNA sample all over the place
