Default Building an In-Car computer?

I have a spare pc thats pretty old but still runs fine. I was thinking itd be cool to somehow fabricate it to run in one of my cars...get like a lcd display for the center console, and maybe even have it tapped into my ecu to display boost, temps, a/f, etc. Not to mention movies for my passengers on long trips, tons of music on tap perhaps?

i know people have done this, any good write ups or advice?

you will not be able to use all the parts from the old pc. maybe the hard drive but thats about it. standard computers run off a power supply that converts AC to DC. the power supply you want to find is a DC to DC. you also need a much smaller motherboard and such. go here: http://www.via.com.tw/en/initi...c.jsp read up on some of that stuff. if you are not familiar with computers, this project may not be for you...
