Boss audio?
I am thinking of buying a cheap 4 ch amp and am looking at a Boss audio.
a friend has one running his subs and it sounds suprisingly good. I know its a cheap amp and that you usualy get what you pay for but if I wanted to spend $400 on an amp I would spend $400 on more performace mods. Just looking for a good amp for under $200.

There are plenty of other amps for the $200 range or less.
If you want I can get you a kenwood 4channell brand new in the box with warranty for 150 bucks that will sound way better
or
you can do a MTX thunder 4244. 4 channels high pass, full pass in the front two channels, 2 rear channels have full, low, and high pass..
this amp runs $200.
Boss amps are really shitty and heat up very quickly. No kinda rms power niether.

Always be sure to look at RMS at 12v not the peak at 14... Big difference. The peak always looks better... but the RMS is true, Thats why companies market the Peak.....
If this is for Subs dont get a 4 channel amp and bridge ****, to complicated and your gonig to spend to much, and its not going to wield as good a quality.
MTX makes a damn good amp, and for 400$ (offline) you can get a damn good mtx mono amp to power a couple subs.
If this is for your inside speakers go with one of the new Alpine amps, pioneer doesnt do so well with bass amps but they are good quality sounding speaker amps (low power but nice soundin).
Your best bet is to go with a good ol JL 4 channel amp. 400$ should buy you a nice one off line http://www.onlinecarstereo.com
