are these any good? If so what amp would you suggest? Want nice bass but want to keep it light.

 

go with a infinity kappa perfect 10 in a custom sealed enclosure with a more than decent amp. I heard 1 10, and it hit pretty damn nicely and weight was about 2x lighter than mine

 

the Alpine Type R's hit pretty good for a pretty decent price.. my friend works in a car audio shop and he has these in his car (he gets everything at cost and he chose these).. he didn't want to spend a lot but wanted something good and he got these... I haven't been in the market for an amp in years.. so I'm not up to date w/ what models/model numbers are currently out.. sorry.. maybe sum1 else that knows the 2002 models can suggest u something..

 

We have 3 15" Alpine R's (99 ford expedition) in a sealed enclusure briged down to a 2ohm load. They are being pushed by a soundstream picasso 2 channel amp.

We are abusing 1700 watts of bad *** bass.

Them things are great, especially for the price.

 

im gonna get 2 alpine type-r 12's... should i get the 2 ohm or the 4 ohm, and what kinda of amp should i use to power them...

 

get your amp first, that way you know which ohm voice coils to get

 

Go with a JL 500/1

And push 2 Type R DVC Alpine 10's

Type R speakers are bad ***, when I get the money I wanna put a pair of the coax's in my Sol.


If you got the money get a pair of the new X series by Alpine... *droools*
