if you can save up $30 more, i'd go with an adire audio tempest. $150 shipped from visionary audio.

at least you have a price limit, i am going to have to follow suit and go with the alpine. A W0 in a ported box would be super sweet too, just a little more expensive. Also consider that when buying your sub in your budget, you have to put it in a box.

Have any of you guys listened to the P Miller stuff?? I was amazed when I listened to it at Circuit City. And it got a damn good score by the user rating as well (4.8 out of 5). And they're cheap. Like 80-90 dollars for a 12.

Seriously?? I was just curious because it beat like crazy when I was up there. It sounded better than the 275 dollar RF subs (the ones with the silver cones)

I've seen them before, they are very cheap subs....I also wouldn't use RF as a benchmark for SQ either...

Well, if you want to reuse your current box, you had better figure out what size it is (i.e. how much volume is in there) because subs require wildly different sized boxes depend on which one you decide upon.

First of all don't get a boston, I can fart louder then their $300 10" with a passive Radiator. s. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=3291

Good reliable seller also. That thing has great SQ in the right box, and decent SPL for the money. I had one, best money I everspent. (Then I upgraded the W3 was better but for the money I would choose Infinity)
