Default awiring help

let's say I have an audiobahn 15" and i'm running normal sized speaker wire to it from the amp. does getting thicker (10 or 8 guage) wiring going to improve the bass, if not quality coming out of the sub?

by the way, i'm an audio idiot.

14 gauge will be sufficent 12 is better any bigger isnt really necessary but wont hurt

Yep in this case there is no reason to go bigger. I would get gold plated terminals, one for a clean look and two for a little better connection(clarity). I run 12 gauge and it is fine, but dont get radio shack wires get good wires.
