I installed one of those aux input converters in my oem hu. How am i supposed to get sound to play from it. Nothing happens if I push the cd button... ?

 

first what kind of unit is it. This will help.

 

One of the Precision Electronics Interface (PIE) ones. Plugged into the cd changer port.

 

What does the instruction manual/spec sheet say??

lol what kind of radio is it, Some you have to manully turn on the aux port, some you have to reset the radio by pressing the reset button.

 

it's the stock headunit. has cd built-in.

 

Do you have your portable device plugged into the aux adapter and powered on? Maybe the adapter needs to see an input signal before it'll send the signal to the deck to switch over?? *shrugs*

Maybe give PIE tech support a call if that's not it?

 

maybe you have to go to the cd changer mode?
