automatic starter
does anyone have that alarm automatic starter for a manual car. And if so can you let me know how did you wire it. Can you use any kind of automatic starter or any model for a manual.
better yet...
find a wire from your alarm system that provides a current (I forgot whether the clutch wire was negative or positive) when autostart is engaged and use that wire to run to the clutch switch behind the top of the clutch pedal to trick the car to believing that the clutch is pressed. use a relay if you have to.

reminder to all HT members.....this is very dangerous to do on manual tranny's
but if u feel the need to do it as i did..lol......then please use a relay. its the best and safest way to do it.

You can use any remote starter for a manuel car ......I personally suggest a DEI product (viper and sidewinder).
To install a remote starter it would be the same like any other car , the only big issue is the car may go when it is in gear and cause a BIG problem.
What i did to my CRX is install two infared switches that are around the shifter.
When one of the two beems are triggered the remote start will not activate, that means that it is in gear.
It took me almost an hour to install the switches themselfs, but i feel more secure that the car will not go while it is in gear.

cliffor actualy makes the smart start or the solaris alarm that will work with a manual transmission, this is the only alarm on the market that i know of that is actualy made to work with a manual transmission. If you are interested i have a clifford concept 600 with smartstart and smart windows(controls power windows) for sale it has a proximity and a dual zone omni sensor also. i had this alarm in my car and i removed it and put in a avantguard 4 clifford high end alarm.

I would also recommend getting a Clifford Intellistart. It's pretty much impossible to start it in gear. I'm not sure how other products work buy here is how the clifford works.
Upon leaving car(pre-exit steps): Pull Ebrake, put car in neutral, don't touch brake or clutch. Push few buttons on the remote, lights flash, turn ignition off, car still running, exit car, alarm car, car shuts off.
Then when you want to remote start the car, push another button. The car will NOT start unless the pre-exit steps are done.
If the alarm goes off the remote start sequence is turned off, and you cannot remote start the car.
