Default automatic safer than manual

would an automatic be safer from a car jacking point than a manual? Because you ahve to somehow put the auto into gear?

I don't get it. You have to put a manual in gear too, but what does that have to do with anything?

I don't get it. You have to put a manual in gear too, but what does that have to do with anything
You can put a manual into gear w/o the key in the ignition. You cant put an auto into gear w/o the key.....

Umm.... I've seen quite a few cars where all you have to do is step on the brake, and the shift-lock mechanisms are easy to break.

Umm.... I've seen quite a few cars where all you have to do is step on the brake, and the shift-lock mechanisms are easy to break.
That may be true, but for the novist or vandalist, a manual doesn't seem quite as secure to me. Pop it out of gear and release the e-brake and you can roll it around.

You can pop a auto into neutral also.

My sisters auto you need not push on the break or put key in.
