Default AutoLock..

Ok,
I have seen some posts about bypassing Autolock. I completely understand how the Club doesnt work as the steering wheel column is weak. But how can people say that all you have to do is simply bend the pedal? What are you talking about? Its hard as hell!!??
I mean, I dont want anyone to start learning how to bypass AutoLock if it is bypass-able.... But can anyone who use it or know much about it give some good feedback on this device??
Thanks...

Thanks 4Dr for not revealing how to defeat it. I will check out this link now.... The search on this website needs to be fixed as it never finds anything I want...

Also, is there any way to protect the fusebox? I heard a lot of people pulling the hell out of them to turn the alarm off...I want to be able to protect that...

One more thing, if an alarm has fuel cutoff, and it goes off, how in the world does a theif still take the car other than towing it? Is it possible to start the car somehow?

First off, the autolock is a piece of ****. It doesn't fit on my bloody car. The foot rest gets in the way. They tell you which cars it wont fit, but I don't see integra on the list. I'm not sure if it's with all hondas or just the teg, but it won't fit on my clutch. If anyone wants to try it themselves I'd be happy to sell it.

true, it takes me ~5 min to put it under the clutch so I dont bother anymore. Plus when its on it does feel like I can wiggle the clutch side to side and bend it, tho I've never attempted to. I gave it to my mom, although I cant imagine thieves wanting an 85 volvo.

INDY...almost all alarms feature a starter cut-off, not a fuel cut-off. Unless u custom wire it that way with the alarm.
If your alarm is like most cars out there with an alarm wired with starter cut-off, a thief can bypass this with experience. As he knows what color wires to reconnect at the wiring harness and/or alarm. Plus with a manual car, he can roll start it from a driveway or such without having an operative starter!
The only thing you can do is make it harder for a thief by putting in as many security features you can deal with so he will give up a few minutes of being frustrated and move to another target. But if they really want your car they will get it.

Good luck and keep an eye out for those asses!

Wow I didnt know the AutoLock was that crappy! I truly thought it was what the club should have been, but now it seems like its just the club all over again but for the pedals.
What about those locks for sticks? Do they help??
I know nothing really helps but some of these gadgets seem really useless now...

One more thing, is there such thing as a MASTER key for Acura Wheel Locks? Other than having a heavy loud *** tool to remove wheel locks, has anyone actually had wheels stolen WITH wheel locks on them?

I use it every day, and would recommend it to anyone!... It DOES fit our 'tegs - the secret to getting it on and off the clutch is to depress the pedal about an inch or so while installing. Once on, I push down on the outer shaft while pulling up on the locking bar. This gives a very tight fit, so I don't think it can be twisted off that easily. Some people tend to think if a safety feature/product doesn't cost an arm and a leg, it must not be worthwhile... Not always true. If a thief see's my car with the autolock, and an identical one without nearby, whose would you think they'd try to steal? Every bit helps...

the autolock isnt crappy... its one of the better devices out there... but its still easier than u think to get off... same goes with the wheel locks... if u dont know much about them... its hard... if u don know about them... its takes a few more seconds than the regular nut to get off...

iv found the best way to prevent any kind of car theft is to know how its done... meeting people who know their **** has actually been one of the best things iv done... it opens your eyes to find out what really stops or slows them down and what doesnt...

(i will be moving this to the security forum later on)

I agree, I like the Autolock and haven't had any problems fitting it on my R. The way I look at it, even if it's removeable, if it'll delay someone for even a minute, that's an extra minute for me to get there!

Question, has anyone here installed a transmitter to their alarm which'll send a signal to a beeper if the alarm goes off? I've seen it on a couple of webpages and it looks pretty straight forward. Anyone?

-gracias!

I know that Clifford has a lot of bells and whistles like that, that will page someone. I would bet that almost any alarm companies highest model would support that feature now. I wouldnt get Clifford as they are now out of business but bought by DEI? Something like that...

Indy,

Yes there is a master key for almost all wheel locks. It is actually quite a simple key. It just about looks like a socket. Garages use them when they get cars in for service. There are so many different patterns they just use the "master". All they do is take the tool and bang it on to the wheel lock lug. They bang it on with a hammer and it grips the outside of the lug. Then they just put the impact wrench on and off it comes. The place usually has more then one because they need one for each wheel lock lug. It is almost impossible to take them out one they are banged on. After the work is done they just put the wheel lock lug back on, and wiggle the impact wrench and the "master" key to get the lug back out.

99VTec,
Are you shitting me? I cant beleive that. I seriously thought that if anything were safe it would be wheels with wheel locks. My friend said the only way to take them off was to use a special type of drill, which would be too loud at nite so thats why I figured the wheels would be safe.
Dammnit, so what do you recommend are good wheel locks? I am probably going to put more than 1 wheel lock on each wheel from different companies..
