Default autio noob needs help!

I Just got 2 12's and i was wondering how many watt amp to get and does it matter if i get a 2 channel or 4 channel. I have 1200 watt subs(600 rms each) and i really need to know how many watts for an amp to get!! PLEASE HELLLPPP!

first of all, who makes your subs and are they truly 600watts rms each (ie you paid good cash for them and are of brand name with manufacturer specs?)

The reason I ask is because there are too many overrated cheap subs out there for anyone to make a good buying decision, and whats worse there are amps to match (ie. Sony "1000watt amp!")

A monoblock bridgeable amp is what you are looking for when driving those two subs, the reason being you can get the amp to be more efficient usually at 2ohm plus get a lot more power out of them.

Pushing 250watts each with a good monoblock amp rated at about 600w@2ohm would be nice, but thats assuming you have half decent subs. Expect to pay close to a dollar per watt on good amps.
