Audio setup question
Hey guys!
Look i know it isnt the best install out there but hey,i got it like in the pic and didnt have much time to play around installin it differently!
Anyways,i wanted to know, you see the 2 subs,i think for some reason that i am not getting all the "punch" that they could give me...
Theyre 25cm ones 200w..amplified,you think i should put them in a "box",if so what size!!?
Thanks...

They need to be in a box
What size box depends on a lot of things, one being we need to know the make and model, anothers is what kind of sub bass do you want?

Well i come from italy so,the make an model you wouldnt know it!they were made by an actual speaker maker!
All i can say is that they are 25cm in diameter.
I just needed a rough size guide!
What do u mean what kind of bass??how many are there??
Is that install really wrong?lots of people hate it!

All speakers are made by "actual speaker maker" and info on them may be found on the net, like Alianti or U-vola, and I'm sure there are others, I just Googled those 2 up. To build a proper box you need the Thiele-Small parameters http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/theile.asp
A 25cm, [10"] speaker may work in a cabinet as small as less then 1/4 cuft or bigger the 2 cuft, it depends on the T-P/P and what kind of bass you want.
A sealed box=tight accurate bass, most power handling, least efficient small box A ported/vented box= deep, boomy bass, less power handling more efficient bigger box.
A bandpass box= deep bass, even less power handling, but more efficient, much bigger box, and has a natural x-over "built in".

Then you need a tuned port cabinet, and the Thiele-Small parameters are needed to build one, or a box/port volume recommendation from the manufacture, if you don't have one or the other, then all you are doing is guessing, with a sealed box there is only one parameter for the box you need to worry about, volume, and you can do what I have done more then once, use/build a box that you know is too big, then listen, make it smaller, [less air volume] a block of wood that is 1/4 cuft in volume placed inside of a 1 cuft box will make that box a 3/4 cuft box, once you find the volume that works, you build cabinet to that size
Trying to do that with a tuned port. vented cabinet, would take a long time, [not impossible] but not only are you dealing with box volume, but port volume also.
As a very general rule, a ported box will be larger in volume by at least the volume of the port , but volume of port will depend on what frequency you are tuning to box to.
A sealed cabinet is the easiest to build, 10% in volume diff. up or down is not going to make much of a difference.
In a vented cabinet, small diff. in the volume of box and port can make a big difference.
In a bandpass cabinet volume diff. can make the a huge difference.
