audio problem with my basic setup
as you know im going to upgrade soon, but that is when i have the money for it.
right now, I have a pioneer 3200ub and kicker ks650's in my s2000. this morning I drove to work and was able to listen to it nice and loud (45 out of 62 on the volume ****) and after work, I got into my car, pluged my usb flash drive in (i disconnect it to close the radio door) and now my speakers seem like they aren't working. on cd/usb, i can go up to 26 (its super quiet too) and if I go past 26 it starts to clip (fuzzy noise) and gets worse as you turn it up (but it wont get louder). on radio, I can go up to 36 then after that it starts to clip (also very quiet). not too sure, my friend seems to think that i blew my speakers (or at least super heated the voice coil) but I want to know for sure before I go "hunting" tomorrow. if it turns out its the speakers ill simply put another set in (that i have lying around) if its something else, well ill soon find out if anyone happens to know whats wrong.
thanks in advance.

If you had it loud and then just turned it off it could be the speakers although both of them going at the same time is rare, but it is still the first thing I would check.
It is easy to drive a HUs internal amp into clipping and that will burn the VCs 94

I had an s2000 in my shop over the summer, same exact prob. Both speakers just made a buzzing sound. I assumed that since it was the BOTH speakers at the same time, that the radio had gone out. I changed the radio, same problem. It was actually the speakers, one of the rare times ive seen 2 speakers go out at the same exact time, esp when only being pushed by the deck...
okay, UPDATE.
So, took the kickers out, put the stocks back in, stocks buzzed just as bad as the kickers. Wasn't the speakers. So I took the head unit out. Unwired the harness and as it turns out 1 tiny little copper "thread" poked out the tape and crossed left/right channels just enough to cause a buzz but not cause a huge problem. sniped it, re taped it, everything works fine. Also solved my alarm and dash light problems too. GOOD DAY! :D

the way i twist the wires, i split each wire with their threads in half. so if you have positive right and negative right (for example), each will be slit in 2 (at the tip) making 2 positive and 2 negative. Then i braid the wires so that they wont come apart, you can tug and tug and they wont break apart. only problem was that 1 tiny thread of copper. other then that and this one time it works great!

p.s. I have a new question. I Have kicker ks650's coaxial speakers. I took the tweeters out, will this change the ohm? (the way im thinking, the 2ohm tweeter and 2ohm mid wired together to make a 4ohm load, making the speaker 4ohms). so if my thinking is right, taking the tweeter out made just the woofer 2ohms and the tweeter just 2 ohms, so if i leave the tweeter out of the equation, the speakers will get more power from an amp? just a thought....?
