Default anyone try this?

Gut the interior and line it with carpet padding instead of brownbread or whatever look alike. It would be pretty light, very cheap, and I think I've heard of someone doing it and said it was a very quiet setup. I was thinking of going up to home depot after finals are done and doing it to my car and see what it sounds like. Anyone here try it?

It works pretty good and is cheap. Make sure you use the 3M super sticky spray glue. Remember to be patient when preparing your panels or they won't stick to well.

I have a 12" ported Solobaric and it doesn't rattle too much.
My friend who has no deadening material sounds like ***.

Try looking at some other posts. I have been recommended in using housing insulation for the rear quarter panels. I dunno though.

Yeah, what is Roxul Safe and Sound? As far as rattles go, I like to stuff the problem areas (that sounds bad) w/ foam egg crate material. In my 4-dr, the area around the 6x9's like to rattle because there is all that trunk mechanism underneath it. I just packed it w/ the egg crate stuff and it worked great.

there was a post with pictures about a year ago on the integra forum...can't remember the name, but basically was called "Lexus quiet for cheap" he did the whole carpet padding thing, with spray on adhesive and it apparently worked great.

I just actually ordered 72 square feet of brown bread, decided i did'nt want the hassle of having to overcome the new thickness of carpet padding. Plus after research it was cheaper than dynamat, and just as effective, plus it can be used in the engine bay and sticks like crazy...

i'll post how my install goes in my 95 gsr and 90 trecel (beater...road noise like crazy)

Carpet foam RULES. There is only so much you can do with dynamat and the otehr adhesive sound deadening materials.

Well, I am going to be adding the carpet padding in this coming wends/thurs. I'll try to post some pics of it as I go along and let you know how it sounds.
