Google is your friend...
apparently its owned by audiovox... just basing it on the webaddress...
=============EDIT============
umm btw.. i think the unit you are buying is just a remote start with keyless... there is no siren included with the package
you can always buy a separate siren or two tho, but I dunno if the brain has a siren out lead... ?
oo umm what is your budget???
below 80? 100? 150?

bpr0422, you are very observent, i dont think it comes with the siren either... and it doesnt come with a shock sensor or anything, i am willing to spend up to 150 on a one way security system and now im thinking about this viper 560xv.. its made by DEI so it has to be decent http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...d=m37 (145 buy it now)
is there anything else i should order in conjunction with this alarm?.. i do not plan on wiring up the door locks and autostart or anything. how about a motion sensor or a glass break?... and how about a back up battery. thanks bpr0422 you are a huge helper.

I would go with the viper. DEI has way better product than audiovox. 60 bucks for an alarm? Let's just say you are going to get what you pay for. If you have power locks, definately go for it, its not too hard to interface. I would go with the back up battery, I'm 1/2 and 1/2 on motion sensors. Suspendedhatch recommends the crutchfield motion sensor. I believe him, I have a DEI one and its crap. glass break is good too. Anything you can add will help, but an alarm is only as effective as the install that is performed.

I don't understand why you are looking at remote start systems if you don't plan on hooking it up? What about this: http://www.drdetailshop.com/742t.htm

do you seriously need one with a remote start?
if not you could spend the extra money somewhere else, other than the remote start you don't need...
also Clifford is a good brand - it is dei..
------------side note-----------------------
what I don't understand is why dei has so many different brands for the same unit...
are the prices different? are any of the internals different? I know the remotes look different, sorta - different colors...

Q: Do products I buy from HookedOnTronics have warranty coverage?
A: Products sold by HookedOnTronics are packaged with the corresponding USA manufacturer warranty and service information (except cell phones). All the products sold on this site are original and unaltered, and are sold at a substantial discount over regular retail and manufacturer minimum suggested prices. The low prices offered by HookedOnTronics, are in general, not authorized by many manufacturers. In those situations, where the manufacturer does not authorize HookedOnTronics to sell at the prices advertised on our website, those manufacturers may decline to honor the warranties that generally accompany the product being purchased. HookedOnTronics cannot be held responsible for the refusal of a manufacturer not to cover or honor one of their warranties. In the event a manufacturer does refuse to honor one of their warranties, please contact us and we will make every effort to help you obtain service for your item.
You have no warranty with dei and there is nonething that they can do. Let alone that dei is sueing them.
And mtx, and pioneer.

Guess I didn't read that he didn't wan't remote start. I would have suggested the 350HV, basic, cheap, and DEI. Oh and I think it's good that DEI bought clifford cause they cross the technology for viper, clifford, python, whatever there is out there. I think the price diffference is in quality and target market price.

This is the part that will get you, for about the same money you could have purchased an alarm only, from an authorized DEI dealer a received at least 1 year of manufacturers warranty.
so sad.94

oh well i guess its too late, if anything goes wrong with the system i will just buy new DEI pieces... the 560xv comes with a turbo timer which i will use.... and i will look into adding a Crutchfield motion sensor later, i can add later right? and a dei backup battery maybe, it seems like a good idea, and once again this is a learning experience for me i would rather do it myself than have someone else install it and not knowif i can trust thier work, this may take me a long time but the knowledge that it was done right is well worth the wait.
plus the cheaper viper 350hv does not come with a turbo timer, all in all i am satisfied with my purchace and i plan on de- pinning unwanted wires.... and yeah, i have been studying the stickys and faq's.
thanks again everyone i may need your help again later.

Remote start has to be hooked up for the turbo timer to work.
Yes, you can add sensors later. Why not?
Code Alarm is crap. I worked at CC for a short time before they dropped Code Alarm because we got tired of pulling the alarms and sending them in for warranty replacement. So good job on going with a DEI.
The reason why DEI has so many lines that are the same thing is because DEI is a big monster corporation that consumes it's competition and then incorporates their technology across their whole brand.
