I have a Pioneer 7300 deck (4 yrs. old), as well as Rockford Fosgate 6.5" component speakers up front, and Cerwin Vega DEH-1693 6x9's in the rear. I bought all of this when I was 17 working at Best Buy in 2001.
I recently picked up an Infinity 1,020watt 10" sub, and Alpine MRV-T301 300-watt 2-channel amp, complete with all the necessary wires.
I haven't had a sub/amp in my car for a lonnnnnggg time, so I forgot how to wire it all up.
Any general tips? What's wrong with me routing the power wire and RCA's on the same side? I've heard that there can be distortion, but on my last setup (RF), I didn't have any distortion issues running that setup.
Also, how can I bridge the amp? I know, I know...FAQ thread, but that's like Greek to a turbo fiend like me.

Here this might help:

</TD></TR></TABLE> First off the Alpine MRV-T301 is a 30W x 2 into 4 ohms or 50W x 2 into 2 ohms or 100W x 1 into 4 ohms, [it is not stable below 4 ohms when bridged] you can get 150W x 1 into 4 ohms at 14.4 volts, so there is no way that you can run that sub properly with that amp. Now what is the model of the sub, and what is the RMS power , [continuous power handeling].

Brand: Infinity RMS Wattage: 250
Model: 1020W Voice Coil: Single
Size: 10 inches Condition: --

So you have a 250W RMS sub and the the amp is 150W RMS, about 1/2 the power you need to run that sub properly.
That said, doesn't mean you can't use the amp to run that sub, just that it will not let you make full use of the sub, if you are going to use the amp, make sure that you power it properly 8ga power and ground min. make sure the ground is good, to the floorpan of the car, upgrade the ground, [add to it] from the batt. to cars chassis, with 8ga cable solder all the connections, use an ANL, [waffer] type fuse at the batt., do NOT turn the input gain on the amp all the way up, make sure the box for the sub is the proper size, with proper volume port, [if in a ported box].
Running the RCAs with any power wires is not a good idea, if you do and you have noise problems, it will probably be because of that, however doing so does not mean that you will have a noise problem for sure.
There is one rule about mounting an amp that is for sure though, the closer the amp is to the power and signal source the better, if the amp will fit under the pass. seat, install it there, shorter RCAs, [as short as 3' on some cars] and shorted power cable.
To bridge that amp all you do is switch the input mode switch to 1+2 and use the 2 outside speaker term. to connect the sub, right speaker neg (-) and left speaker pos. (+), don't forget the amp is not stable below 4 ohms when bridged

Where can I get those little gold/copper/brass/whatever terminal ends for my ground wire?
Do I have to go to a place like Best Buy and get raped $$$ wise for them?

Just got back from there.
They don't have terminals for 4 gauge power wire. Neither does Checker/Autozone. They have shitty copper ends.
