Default Amp's remote turn on

I don't have access to my voltmeter right now. What is the specifics of the voltage and ampere that has to be sent to a regular amp to turn it on?

Is it a continuous signal?

Thanks

12 volts. Do you have a stock head unit or aftermarket? And whats the make model and year of your car?

I've got a Kenwood HU, I drive a 93 Civic Si.

I want to turn on the Amp without hooking it up to the HU. So I'd like to fool the amp by feeding a signal to the "remote on" lead. Just wanna know the specifics of that signal I should be sending.

Thx!

12v, less than 1 mA. As long as the amp sees 12v on the remote terminal, it will stay on, so yes, it needs to be a continuous signal.

12 volt switched power. not 12 volt continuous...unless you want to feed juice to the amp all day long
