Default amplifier problem need help asap...

hey, im hooking up my brothers system and his amp is giving +6.xx volts from both the ground and remote terminals on the amplifier. the led goes on when the power is hooked up even without the ground and remote hookup up. as soon as the power wire touches the power terminal the led goes on whether anything else is hooked up or not. any ideas? thanks

Does everything else work properly? Will it play music? Make any funky noises? I think something may be shorted out internally, but I have no clue.

nope wont power the subs and no noises. I think its either internally in the amp or somewhere in the power wire. The wire is kind of old maybe ill try changing it. Thanks
