Amplifier
my amp isn't very powerful and I was wondering what a more poerful amp could do for me?
Do you Think mine is cheap?
Details:
* mono subwoofer car amplifier
* 220 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (400 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
* variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 24 dB/octave)
* tuned Bass EQ (0-12 dB bass boost at 50 Hz)
* subsonic filter (15 Hz, 24 dB/octave)
* MOSFET power supply
* CEA-2006 compliant
* STAR Topology (minimizes internal noise and prevents ground interference)
* speaker- and preamp-level inputs
* gold-plated screw terminals
* fuse rating: 20A x 2
* 8-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
* 9-3/4"W x 2-7/16"H x 9-9/16"D

Potato.
See how worthless that response is? It's almost as worthless as your thread title when someone with the same question tries to use the search function and doesn't come up with any results.
Anyways.
Those specs are useless because you haven't told us what you're powering with it.
Let's try this again, and let's get specific on what you're trying to do here.

good stuff.And to answer the OP's question, a more powerful amplifier could blow your sub, or it could make it sound better/louder. Can't get more specific than that with the info you provided.
i have two 12 inch Alpine type e. with an alpine amplifier. here is a link to my box http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=127
here is a link to my amplifier

And here is a link to my subs. These subs are only 10 inch because they don't have 12 inch anymore. so just picture them as 12 inch instead of ten.

Much better.
Although I am no fan of Q-Logic cabinets, they can be "beefed up" and it is the optimum sealed box volume for two 12" Type E subs, 2.5cuft.
The amp is a very good amp and although a little underpowered for the two subs at 1x400W RMS, [subs are 250 each] with everything installed properly and the box "beefed up" is should sound pretty good.
You can call the box cheap, it is, you can even call the subs cheap, they are Alpines entry line subs, and even though the amp is Alpines entry line, V-Power amps, it is a pretty good amp.
You could have done a lot worse.
