Depends on what you want to get out of it.
To run some cabin speakers in a low volume situation, or just to get something better then what's stock, then yeah, it's worth it. It's also going to be an upgrad over what is built into a headunit.
It will not put out 50 x 4 - always look at RMS power ratings. This amp is rated to be 25 x 4!
So it's a good amp to power a very small system, and I would say that it's worth $40 only if this is the amp requried for the application...otherwise you are wasting your money.
