I'd offer him $50 max. $40 if there are scratches on the amp.

It depends if the amp is 200w per channel or a 200w total(100W per channel) need to know model and type of amp. Also it depends if the seller is talking RMS or peek power.
you can use a lower power amp to drive a sub but if you take my advice and the advice of others on this site it is generally not advised.
just don't take the amp to the point of clipping or you might damage your speaker and amp
general advice is you are better haveing an amp of larger power capacity than the speaker.
if you bridge the current amp(assuming its 200W into 4Ohm per channel) you will be low by 100w.
but this setup may meet your base expectations!

Hate to burst your bubble, but Boss is "cheap ****". Pioneer is definitely not high-end, either.

pioneer isnt cheap there just not the best when it comes down to any thing besides head units. asfar a boss audio there amps arnt to bad as long as u dont go lower than 2 ohm other thant that they make decent power but yes still overated.

Try to get more info on both the sub and amp. Without knowing if it peak/rms or other stats its hard to know if you are getting ripped off or getting a good deal.
At least ask for the model for both the sub and amp.
