Amp Issues
I just got this amp and was basically wondering what ppl thought about mounting it under a front seat. I kinda would rather do this than in the trunk, but the trunk works as well. Here's the amp's stats and if anyone could give feedback about whether putting it under the seat is a good idea or not it would be appreciated.
Class A/B
400W x 2 Max Power Output
80Hz Hi/Low Pass Filter
-12dB/oct Slope
125W x 2 into 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1.0% THD
170W x 2 into 2 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1.0% THD
Max Power (Watts): 800
Ad Hoc Power into 4 ohms, THD%: 125
Ad Hoc Power into 2 ohms, THD%: 170
Bridged into 4 ohms, THD%: 340
Signal to noise ratio (dB): 93dBA
Frequency Response (Hz): 5-50kHz
Current Drain at rated output (A): 32A

Well, if you can promise that water will never get in the car, or a person with a pace maker will never drive the car; go ahead. But it may cause RF interference with the vehicles electronics.
I ran into a like situation with a 1989 Sterling (English designed Acura) with a customer who mounted a mobile phone under the passanger seat. Wasn't good, loads of diagnostic time - parts replacement for ultimately no good reason etc etc etc.

Most Amp installation kits I have seen come with enough wire to go all the way to the trunk, Honda has a history of leaking water into the floor boards, that is one reason why they moved the main computer to the firewall where the passengers feet rests.
I'd stick the amp in the trunk! That's what I did - mounted it on the rear fold-down, on the passenger side.
I've got a 300W Kenwood amp with a 2 Farad stiffening cap, and that sucker gets so hot... forget eggs... you could fry steaks on it!
I can actually smell the dust burning off it when I'm bumping tunes!
LoL! I wouldn't want an amp sitting under my seat!
Here's a pic of my meager setup...

As you can see, everything (amp, cap, sub, factory changer) is in my trunk - everything except the OEM head unit...
