Default Alpine Type-S?

Is this a good choice? My stock speakers are slowly going out the Highs are barely noticable anymore.

Fronts -
Alpine Type-S 6-1/2" 2-Way Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cones

Rears-
Alpine Type-S 6" x 9" 3-Way Coaxial Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cones

This will be powered by a Alpine CDA-9827.

Although they are pretty good speakers they need more power then your HU has to sound good, also the 6.5" are over-sized 6.5" not the standard 6.5" your Honda uses, so some mods will have to be done to fit them.

If you want a good speaker that will run off HU power, have a look at the Eclipse, or Infinity speakers, they have speakers that fit a lot easier then the Alpines

The Infinity REF6012si will fit and sound very good... http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...er=REF&Cat=MEL

The Infinity REF9612I for the rears... http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...er=REF&Cat=MEL although I would disable the tweeter on the 6x9s, you should not have highs comming from behind you.

The Eclipse SE8365 is also a direct fit... http://www.eclipse-web.com/integrated/se8365.html

The Eclipse SE8495 will give you massive amounts of bass for a 6x9...
http://www.eclipse-web.com/integrated/se8495.html I would disable everything except the woofer on them also. 94

how big of a amp must i run? you'd think a small 250w would be enough? I'm getting this with a bestbuy discount, so pretty much what bestbuy has is what i'll be getting (selection wise)

But if they are a little harder to get in what's the necessary modifications to make them fit on the door speakers? Sorry i'm not into this section much. Usually in the turbo and fs threads more The Eclipse looks nice to i'll have to see what i can do now haha.

All the speakers you listed they will need an amp right? or no?

alpine ones will need a amp so you can get all the power in them. a good 4 chanell amp would be good. try to find at least decent one?

okay narrowed down the amps:

-Power Acoustik 960W Bridgeable 4-Ch. MOSFET Amplifier

-Alpine V-Power 75W MOSFET Multichannel Amplifier with Adjustable Crossover

which one is better, and they both are about the same price range.

The MRVF345 is a very solid amp, one I would not mind having in my own car.

Any of the speakers I mentioned will work with HU power, all of them will work better with an amp, the Alpines you want are 50W continuous to an amp that makes 50W-75W RMS into 4 ohms will work very well, the Alpine MRP-450 @4x70W RMS into 4 ohms, would work great, and a good amp also, very clean, it would also work very well with the Eclipse Point Source speakers, although a little underpowered for the 6x9s, [but that's OK as you don't want much on them anyway, and IMO the Eclipse Point Source are a better speaker then the Alpine Type S, and they fit, and the tweeter, [that you do not want in the rear anyway] is removable.

To install the Alpines you will have to make an adapter that changes the stock 5" mounting hole into a 5-39/64" mounting hole.
Mounting depth is an issue with both the Eclipse Point Source and the Alpine, for the Eclipse all you do is cut the back out of the stock speaker housing big enough for the magnet to fit through, for the Alpines use 1/2" MDF for the adapter.

In both cases, replacing the stock speaker housing wit custom MDF housings will go a long way in getting the most outof whatever speaker you pick.

BTW, the Infiniti's are a direct, [with supplied adapter] bolt in. 94
