Default Alpine Type R 12' subs

I am seriously looking into these subs. I would be getting 2 12's, the 2 Ohm version and would be powering them 375x2 in 2 Ohms.

I am curious about an enclosure that works well with these subs, I have heard good things about a ported box 1.5 cubic ft per sub with port tuned to 60 hz. Apparently a combo like that works well. Will building a box like that make a huge difference from a sealed enclosure 1.0 cubic ft per sub?

Do you guys have any enclosure recomendations?

Sounds like a plan. They are excellent subs for the price, but 60 hz is WAY too high of a freq to be used for daily driving. You'd be much better off tuning to somewhere between 25-30 hz for daily listening. Make sure that your amp has a subsonic filter when running ported.

What is the difference between 60hz and 30hz? In an ideal situation I would like to have the bass as clean as possible but want the advantages of a ported enclosure. Thanks!

Ive built a few boxes for these ( singles, and 2 subs),

I used 1 cu foot per sub, and they hit hard. I don't know if Ive heard them in a 1.5, but I would imagine they would play lower, but not hit as hard.

Make a few 'rough' boxes, see what you think sounds best, and go from there.

I am borrowing 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's built in a sealed enclosure, 1 cu ft per sub. They hit pretty hard and sound good, great SQ at moderately high volume levels but they distort when hitting lower bass frequencies, HIGHER SPL. That is where the ported encolure comes in?

ported: higher SPL at the tuned frequency of the box.
