which alpine speaker?
which one is better...the Alpine SPS-171A

the type R one is a higher brand...but the S one are compoent speakers..should i buy 2 sets (front n back) of the Compoents...
or one of each set?

or both of the type R ones...?</TD></TR></TABLE> Use the SPS-171As up front and just the mids of a SPS-171A set for the rear, [save the tweets, in case you blow the front ones] or see if you can find a set of mids/mid bass drivers for the rear, it will be easier to set the system up if you don't have highs coming from behind you.

but for the same money dont you think it would be beneficial to go with a better set of components for the front and skip the rears or at least leave them to the very end? i also dont think doing both is in the budget since its only a choise between the type S components and the type R coax's

He didn't ask about better components, just about the SPS-171A and the SPR-17LP, If he had I would have mentioned MB Quart or Eclipse or JL Audio, [all of whom I think make better components then Alpine, and I would have recommended he leave the stock speakers in the rear for rear fill for now.
But he didn't, so I won't.

assuming he's sticking with alpine...he could at least go type R components instead of the type S in the 4 corners like you suggested. after all...your front stage is the most important part.
