ALarm system needed
I have the clifford matrix 10.5....to tell you the truth the whole 2 way thing is overrated, the range for the 2 way pagers suck and diminish alot when things are in the way. Its like...the pager range is the same as your range of hearing, if you cant hear the car with your own ears, your pager wont reach it...which pretty much cancels out the functionality of it, so dont expect to be in a movie and depend on it to tell you if some1 is trying to break in. Also, dont be fooled whether it says the range is 1/2-1000 miles, the **** still wont work. And this isnt for just my clifford, my friends 2way Viper is exactly the same...
Good thing about it is that it does have a decent amount of functions and the range is alot better than your typical 1 way alarm. The pager looks tight and you can set the sensitivity of the alarm through it. Also, if your constantly hearing car alarms go off outside your house, and dont know which is yours, the pager beeps/vibrates so you dont always have to run out with a bat or gun thinking someone is trying to break into your car...
Anyways even though the range of the pager sucks, im really happy with it. I get alot of compliments on how "cool" my alarm and pager is and i like the functions and different add ons that you can put in. I suggest that with w/e you get you get a seperate battery for it and a couple more sensors so better the security. I suggest the clifford matrix 3.5/10.5/viper 2way systems.
note that clifford and viper are made by the same brand (directed) so dont expect major differences between them.....i like the clifford pager better though...cf look

Possibly from DEI or Clifford. any suggestions? I want 2-way and good range.</TD></TR></TABLE> Lets see, cheap and good and good range that would be a tough one, although DEI product. [Viper, Clifford] is good product they have some issues with range, the Clifford Matrix 10.5X is an alarm and the Clifford Matrix RSX3.5 is an alarm/remote start combo unit.
If you want a good 2way alarm with good range it's not going to be cheap, look into the Compustar 2W900FM-A... http://search.ebay.com/search/...soo=1 They also make the 2W900FM-AS, alarm/starter for auto/standard transmission cars.

DEI alarms were never known for their range. There are other alarms out there that are much better in that respect. I'll be installing a Compustar 2W900FM-AS this weekend and will let yall know how it works. Even if the range isn't enough to be in a movie/store, I'd still like to be notified when my alarm goes off at home since that's where my car was stolen. Unfortunately I'm a heavy sleeper and the car wasn't parked close to my bedroom.

okay lets change it up, good range meaning better than my 30 ft. stock alarm. good meaning reliable and has potential to save my car one day. cheap, around 200 installed? DEI or Clifford is what im looking for. Forget 2-way, i dont need the paging.
