Default Alarm Sensitivity

Yesterday I finally got my alarm. Its a Viper 300ESP2, and I was happy with it until this morning. IT KEEPS GOING OFF FOR NO REASON!!! First, it went off when my brother started his truck (S10 with Exhaust), then again multiple times as the garbage trucks came around my neighborhood. It seems this alarm is a little too sensitive for me! Is there anyway I can change the sensitivity of it, or is just a sensivite alarm? I really need help because I am about to take it back to the place I purchased it from and bitch at them...

if you know where your shock sensor is mounted.. you can adjust it by turning down the screw.. I'm not sure about the new viper 300's maybe thier diff... on my old viper it had an external shock/impact sensor.. it looked like a clear rectangular-ish cube and has LED's.. even when the alarm is OFF.. when u apply shock/impact to the car.. it will light up the LED"s when it detects shock/impact..

on my friends lower end viper/DEI alarm.. the sensitivity was on the alarm brain itself and just had a **** you could turn up and down... where did you get it installed? first check to see that its firmly secured.. then turn down the sensitivity to a level you like..

does it chirp when ur brother starts up his car? (warn away) or does it go full alarm for 30 secs? dunnoz vipers seem to be over sensitive from my experience..

First off, mine has the internal shock sensor because its a lower model alarm. Second, yeah, it went full out for 30 seconds when my brother started his car so it seems to be waaaaayy to sensitive. I'll personal message you with the location I got it installed at...

There's a screw on the alarm brain to adjust sensitivity. Turn it counterclockwise to turn it down. On my 600ESP, hitting the arm button twice bypasses the shock sensor until you disarm it.

I like my Clifford Remotely Adjustable Piezo/shock sensor.. it seems to work well (maybe its cuz its installed properly), doesnt false a lot.. and best of all.. I can adjust the sensitivity (inscrease/descrease/bypass a sensor) all via remote...

Alpine also makes a decent shock/impact sensor..

Viper/DEI also has the dual stinger guard.. when I had a viper.. it seemed quite sensitive...
