Probably, but why not use a trunk pop solenoid like the rest of the world???

Not on a civic. I tried it with out good sucess. It was a good actuator not some cheap one. It would work a little but was not 100%. You can get away with it, But I suggest getting a trunk poper kit.

yes, it will work perfect. i have one to pop the glass on my hatch (94 si), one on my wifes trunk (95 ex), and ive done a customers del sol trunk at work. they all work perfectly. i used a harada dla-01 from best buy ($20 retail-$7 cost) also a dei 524n is almost identical. ive also used these on 18-20 vehicles ive done with shaved handles to pop open the doors, and ive never had a single one come back not working.

I second that. And an actuator is a million times easier to mount than the huge bulky trunk solenoid.

I also don't like such a strong motor yanking on my delicate japanese latch.

I also wanted to know this question so I'm glad it's on here, what I wanted to do was rig an actuator into pushing the trunk lid open itself, I'll work on that with experiment though...
