HELP! Cable disconnected from Trunk Latch. Advice?

HELP! Cable disconnected from Trunk Latch. Advice?

Okay, I am really pissed off right now. I was working on my 2000 Civic SI as I was in the process of uninstalling the trunk lid so I can trade it to a buddy for his wingless trunk. All things aside, I disconnected the cable that goes to the latch. I have no Key area. I left the trunk up after disconnecting the tail lights and cable latch. When I ran up stairs for a bathroom break, my parents came by for a visit and my Dad shut my trunk. I am in quite the predicament.

Does anyone know any way around this? I am too pissed to go look at it this late at night.

Hope you're not too big of a guy or have someone smaller around.

Get into the backseat of the car and use your key to fold the seats forward. Crawl through into the trunk. On the passenger side of the inside of the back of the trunk there is a little hole in the metal. You can feel an "emergency latch" there. Push it to your right (driver side) and the trunk will pop open!
