Default About rewiring the hood cable from a 2000 civic.

Do you guys really think I should rewire my hood cable wire from the side of the fender?
I have the 50.5 clifford and they install the hood thingy,(when you open the hood from under the bumper or plug the cable from the side of the driver side of the fender the alarm would sound.)

Yes you should. It makes it that much harder for the theif that might try to steal your car.

Yes, that should be done, and toss the siren in the fender too. It will fit. This way the siren can not be tampered with and the thief can not shut it off.

I would recommend it, but it's not going to stop a thief from getting under your hood. It's incredibly easy to pop the hood right at the latch on the 96-00 civic. I plan to do a write up on how to try and prevent this sometime in the near future.

also, after you reroute it..

don't hook it back up to the inside lever...

just let it hang there.. and tuck it under the carpet...

Well the horn is not going to go off is the theif unplugs the horn from the front bummper. I seen this case to many times. And a theif does not care if they pop the hood and siren the siren is right there. Because he is just going to cut it real quick. I thinking about a sticky to put at top on what a theif will do. But I going to go over it with the other mod. It might be to much information.
