98 Civic . Stereo Install...Keyless Entry Problem
I know that the factory keyless entry runs through stock radio, and I need to keep it connected when buying a new one. I was just wondering...what did you guys do with the factory one?
Is there room behind the dash for it to just sit? And where did you buy your harness?
Thanks

Better yet get an aftermarket alarm or even a key-less entry and use it for key-less entry and pull the stock HU completely out.

the easiest way to do it is to take off the front faceplate of the factory radio. it is held on by two little gold screws on the side and should just pull off then. then go to a local car audio store (circuity city, best buy, etc. ) and get the metra 70-1720t harness. you have to hide the factory radio before you put in the kit or the new radio but it will end up sitting right behind the cig lighter.
