If it's chirping, then it's armed. There's only armed and unarmed, no levels in between...

If you got the proximity sensor, then please explain how you have it wired, specifically, how you connected the blue & green wires off the sensor to the input on the alarm, and which input you tapped on the alarm...

It has the proximity sensor. Its a DEI motion sensor. My friend at best buy installed it.He said it plugged directly into the brain.I'm going to go pick it up right now so Ill see where he mounted the motion sensor unit.I told him to try switching around the green and blue wires and he says it does the same thing

I should've mentioned this, when you approach the car it gives the warning chirp. When you stick your arm through the window it doesn't fully go off.

Anyways... Sensor position could have an impact on your problem...

However, I don't recall those sensors plugging directly into the brain... I remember having to connect the wires individually & diode isolating the green & blue wires... :shrugs:

Ok,the alarm will chirp when within 3 feet of the car but then will start going off before you even get any closer.I'm going to try and adjust it tomorrow. And he did a good job on the install and did it stealth. And it is spliced into the wires without any diodes.Maybe thats the problem? He's never done an install with a motion sensor beofre.

The AU-94t is also known as an omega AU-94tm sensor. I paid $59 at crutchfield, only to find the same thing for $34.99 from omega on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Rese...wItem

just an fyi so you dont have to pay as much as i did.

the 791 XV is slightly different than the other models of DEI product...because it is 2 way...it has a little bit of a different harness that runs to the shock sensor. it has one of the green wires looped in its harness. i'm pretty sure that if both the motion and shock sensors were just a simple plug-n-play ordeal...then something's wrong. if i'm not mistaken you have to cut one of the green wires and wire it into the alarms shock sensor harness...i'm at a loss right now as to how.

you have to adjust the 508d for it to work properly. once adjusted they work flawlessly. either you or you friend is having an eso problem. did you even read the instructions for the adjustments? did you comprehend what the instructions say? buying another sensor is kinda dumb if you cant adjust the one you already have.

An extra dual stage sensor should be wired into the Viper 791 XV, like this... http://www.directeddealers.com...5.pdf page 32, this assumes that full alarm trigger output of the sensor you use is longer then .8 sec. and warn a way is shorter then .8 sec..

If installed and adjusted properly the "stock" shock sensor and any other dual stage sensor will work properly together, both giving proper warning and full alarming modes. 94
