529T malfunction?
So the other day my sunroof started acting up... It would sit there and try to close alllll night long, and when I hit the switch in the car, it would still try to close. Normally this would get the 529T to stop, but not anymore. I had it wired up to close when armed, and to open via the remote. It wouldnt open from the remote or the switch most times. Maybe one out of 20 tries it would open a bit with the switch in the car, and then close almost immediately..
For now I clipped the +12v wire for it, until I can figure this out. Just wondering if anyone has ever had similar issues with it? I'm thinking my ground when armed wire might be shorting against the chassis, but even then I think the in car switch should still get it to stop trying to close... Ah well guess I'm tearing in to my dash =/

Sounds to me like there is a problem with the 529T, keep in mind with the 529T installed it is part of the circuit, sunroof wiring goes "through" the 529T, [from switch into 529T, from 529T to sunroof relays.
If you remove the 529T and reconnect the switch to relay wiring, it is a good bet the sunroof will work normally again.
Cutting the power, "I clipped the +12v wire for it," does not take the 529T out of the circuit.

Just try disconnecting the ground when arm wire from the 529 and see if that stops it from trying to close all the time. If not I would say you have a defective 529.

It doesnt take it OUT of the circuit, but it disables it. When the 529T is wired in with no power going to it, it just passes the signal through.

Thats what I wanted to do but didnt have time to dig through all the wiring. Im just going to wait until I swap in the better sunroof from my other CRX, and steal the wiring from this sunroof and that car to make a jumper harness for the 529T and see what happens.

Does the sunroof work normally with the power disconnected?

Of course not, but when you clip the +12v wire for the 529T the sunroof behaves normally and will only be controllable by the switch =p
