IMO, that speaker is going to sound like crap!!! I saw it the other day and cracked up. With that many drivers and all those crossover points (just simple caps), I wouldn't expect too much.

You can go to sounddomain, get a set of DEI Neo Comps for 120 that will blow these things away.

I shouldn't say anything with out hearing them first, but shooting from the hip, I wouldn't call these high-end at all...remember, rarely in car audio does more mean better.

not worth it in my opinion. too much especially for a 6x9. i think money would be better spent on some good front components.

i would like to second that, i was just at the CES show 2 weeks ago, the brand new premier competition stuff looks pretty good. they have a 5000 watt sub coming out soon and a new line of competition speakers, their tweeter is retailed at 350 bucks

 

Dude the fact that you are getting 5 way spkrs for $149.99 shoulda been your first tip to stay away from them. Top end 3 way systems can go for as high as $1000. Pioneer speakers (in my experience) aren't bad for the money but I certainly think you can do better than those.

 

Pros and cons of Pioneer speakers:

Pros: Cheap, shallow mounting depth, don't require a lot of power.

Cons: Sound like crap.

dude, i guess ive never heard better, i was gonna get some 6x9 pioneer but you changed my mind, what other brand would you recomend, i could probably afford boss, infinity, polk and a few others...

if your looking for a good set of 6x9's i would personally go with the alpine type-r speakers or the inifinity perfect or kappas.. good luck finding something decent

 

The infinitys will have better highs. Polks will have better bass, and harsher highs, while requiring more power. In my opinion, I like Boston Acoustics, for the money the Rally series are hard to smote. Best thing to do is go to a shop, bring some music you listen to and listen to speakers in your price range and pick the ones YOU like best.

Pioneer speakers don't sound like ****- where do you get this info from?
I know they are not the "best" but dang good for the money.
I have used Pioneer Premier speakers in my last two cars and have had nothing but positive comments about how clear and good my system sounds.

If your coming to the Expo I'll be happy to crank up the sound for you to re-think your comments/ opinons.

 

i dont' think the perfects come in 6x9's. they only come in 5.25" and 6.5" component sets

 

Thanks, my friend's car is all pioneer. 6x9 and front components.... Turn it to max.... Still Clear Not the best, but u get the bang for the buck.
