I was wondering what will be louder 3 12' JL W6V2 or 2 15' Eclipse titanium? Amp i will be using is a Zapco 1100watts 1 channel. Reason why im asking is because i know a guy selling his 3 12' W6 and right now i currently have only 1 15' titanium but im thinking about getting another 15'. What do u guys think?

the 15s i think willl be louder b/c of their size, but it depends on the watts, either way that **** is going to hit hard as hell

any more in put?? i need some more opinion since i need to make up my mind before he sells it. From what i've heard from others is that 12' subs hits harder close up and the 15' hits harder from far away. But im talking about 3 12' w6 here, i think it should be insane then again 2 15' titanium is crazy also.

How loud the go, [SPL] will depend on other things other then the subs you use, although, it all about moving air 2x15" or 3x12" both setups will move about the same amount of air, the "other things" being the same. Sub bass, how loud and/or how low it goes will depend on the box they are in, sealed, ported/vented, or band pass, and how the box is constructed, eg. if you take the same speaker, [sub woofer] and install one in a sealed box, with the proper air volume, made out of 3/4" MDF and run it with a 500 watt amp, and an other one in a sealed box, with the same exact air volume, but this time use 1" MDF sides and face, [baffel, the surface you mount the speaker to] and install bracing in the box, silicon all the seams, and seal the MDF, [even 1" MDF is not air tight] remember, even with the bracing, the volume is the same and you are usint the same 500 watt amp, the sub in the second box will be louder, by a lot it will also have a lower f3 point, not much but it will be lower.
Ported/vented boxs are generaly louder and have lower f3 points then sealed boxs, but how the box is constructed is just , if not more, important.
Bandpass boxs, have a "natural " low pass filter, and with the f3 point are "band pass" it has both upper and lower cuts, they can also have "gain" built in, a properly built bandpass box with the same speaker as the above can be just as loud, but with less power, say a 300 watt amp, and cn have a f3 point as low or lower.
Now back to your question.... get the 3 JL Audio's, install them in a proper sealed box, make sure the box is bolted solidly to the car, and let er rip, it should be stupid loud, more the low enough. 94
