2 of my subs are 'slapping'
first my pg sub was slapping now a w3 i just got is slapping i thought it was the amp but tried a different amp on the w3 and its the same, i think the centre on it needs changing but the pg is fine
what could be causing this? too much power will make a sub 'slap'?
im not very experienced in desribing it but it sounds as if a coin is on the sub
any help is good, im carrying them to0 the speaker doc to fix anyway

Check to see if there is ample clearance between the tinsle leads and the backside of the cone. If this is the ghetto-fabulous one I saw in your other post then this might be your issue. It sounds almost as if something is sitting on the sub.
I don't know what pg sub you have, but I do know that the w3 is a female spade plastic connector with non-woven tinsle leads. Move the cone up and down and if it looks like the tinsle lead could be hitting the cone then bend down the plastic connector clip slightly to pull the leads away from the cone.
HTH!

thanks alot!
ok the tinsel leads are the wires that go to the cone right?
well on my pg sub one of the wires for the led light has popped off, so it could be hitting on the cone when i turn it up and making the sound?
ill fix that and see if it stops, thank

Yep, they carry the signal from the spade connectors to the voice coil.
