Very basic boosted dc2 build
The benefits of it are prolonged life of your motor and seals.
I would search the topic catch can because it has been gone over a thousand times plus there is a lot of good info on the topic of crankcase ventilation. I'll give you a quick rundown of the basics though. Your motor produces positive pressure in the crankcase "engine block" and in the head "valve cover" You have a factory pcv system "P ositive C rankcase V entilation on your car now that releases the pressure in the block and the breather on your valve cover does the head. It does a pretty good job for a stock motor but once you turbo the car all that positive pressure is increased by a good amount. This is also a good idea on N/A cars to. So by adding to your pcv system by installing extra fittings in the valve cover and running them to a catch can you can eliminate the extra positive pressure being produced in the head. Some people also install fittings in the back of the block. For me this is not needed because I'm not producing a ton of power. So you run two lines from the valve cover. These lines are what the extra pressure travels through to get relieved somewhere. The can is there to allow the air coming from those two lines to be relieved through the filter on top of the can. Since there is oil present in the head and air is being pushed out you will get a small amount of oil residue going into the can. Any oil that comes in with the air will drain down to the bottom of the can. Now you can either hook up a drain back hose from the bottom of the can to the block that way you never have to empty the can and it just keeps recirculating. Or you can just take the can out once a month or so and unscrew the fitting on the bottom and drain it yourself. Hope this clears some stuff up for you.
heeltoehonda-- No problem. Search on h-t if you to know more about it.
mattism78-- Yeah my friend talked me into it but it was worth it in the end.
Cpt. xthread-- Thanks for the compliment on the car. dc2/dc4 it's all the same to me

I picked my valve cover up today. Had two 3/8's npt aluminum bungs welded in the back. Brought it home and stripped it then a few coats of black vht wrinkle plus. 30 minutes in the oven @ 400 degrees and bam. New oem valve cover.

Well here is an update. I sent my ecu out to xenocron and had it chipped plus a basemap installed so I can drive it to the tuners. I ordered a bunch of parts over the past couple days also. Once it all starts coming in I'll post pics.
