Well I spotted the car sitting beside a house one day while driving down the road. Been there for years and I never noticed it lol. After almost 2 months of waiting on the guy to get the title and ect I take the car home. Passenger side door and rear 1/4 were screwed. Guy fell asleep while driving. Interior was tan and just plain nasty. So I got a door and 1/4 from a friend for free plus he helped me do all the work. Pieced together black gsr interior for under 300 bucks. Re-painted the passenger side of the car and then started buying part here and there to boost it. I've had the car since May and it's almost done. I will have it tuned int he spring and then start to do all the body work for new paint. Here are some pics of the process.

 

I really should of taken more pictures during the turbo process but there were only two of us working on it and we had more important things to do then take pictures. Anyways that's it. Nothing special but I only built it to drive almost everyday and go out and beat on it. Just a fun street car. Will be painted Nissan canteen green in the spring. I think I've accomplished a lot for only having the car for 8 months. The original motor took a crap on me so I had to get another Ls from a salvage yard. Found one from a 01 with 90,000 for 500 bucks. Here is a quick rundown of my setup. We did the intercooler backdoor style so it was less bends and easier to make.
Precision sc-34 turbo .60 ar,blox log manifold,tial 38mm wastegate,greddy type s bov,precision 1000cc,2.5 stainless intercooler piping,spoolin performance 3" stainless downpipe,full 3' stainless exhaust and 3" stainless magnaflow muffler,walbro 255,turbo xs boost controller,cx racing intercooler. That's about all really. Full exhaust and charge pipes were fabbed and welded by us. Hoping to make around 280 on 12lbs.

 

If you look at the red lines in the 1st picture that is were we cut the 1/4 to remove/replace it. Plus about 200 spot welds that I had to do twice. NEVER AGAIN! 4th pic down is the right above the rear window. You can see were I nicked the weather stripping with the cut off wheel. Yes the car was cut right there. Who'd a thunk it.
All the body work came out great and no one would ever know half the car was removed and replaced.

Nice build meng. I've had a DC2 shell sitting in my driveway for the past 2 months and she'll be sitting there for a while longer. Seeing your build gives motivation! You did good work on the 1/4. Is that wastegate recirculated or dump? You got some gnarly welds, but looks like it got the job done .

agreed. the most fun I ever had with hondas was when I was running a stock LS swapped civic with a simple 8 psi bolt on turbo kit. It was reliable, fun, and quick.


once you start going all out, sometimes you lose sight of what it was when you started. 500 whp LS/VTEC setups are nice, but honestly, what you have right now seems like more fun and less trouble. Good job.

 

The 1/4 was a pain but I'm real happy with the final results. The waste gate is open dump right down at the ground.
It's stainless steel piping welded with a mig so it leaves alot of splatter around the weld. The welds themselves are fine good color and penetraion. A simple sandpaper disc on a die grinder and all the splatter is gone plus it will knowck down some og the high spots on the welds. Just havent gotten around to that yet. Car is burried under a pile of snow and it's cold outside. I don't feel like cleaning it off just to yank the one charge pipe. I'll do it in the spring. lol

So I took my *** outside before work today and un-buried my integra. Then I had to shovel the driveway in front of the garage. So after about 2hrs of freezing it's in the garage now. Hopefully all the snow will melt off by the time I come home from work and I can go tinker with it. Yeah for productivity!

 

Well the garage has no heat but I still messed around a little bit after work. Till me feet were numb anyways. Got the manual boost controller hooked up and I went ahead and installed the boost gauge also. Not much but it's something.

I borrowed a torpedo heater from a friend tonight and wow it was awesome. I was able to work and not freeze. I finished up all the loose ends on the car. Got the gm 3 bar and resistor box wired in. I figured out my clutch master cylinder fitting being in the way of the turbo inlet problem. "If your that curious look at my other threads" Simple as taking of the hard line and un-bending it and putting it on backwards basically. One fitting is longer than the other. Not sure if it was done for a reason or what but the clutch still works and I have a filter on my turbo now. Only thing left is to notch out the injectors clips to fit my precision injectors. Only thing left is drive it to the dyno and tune away. Just have to swap out injectors,install the bov, and plug in the 3 bar when I get there. Come on SPRING time!

I pulled the car outside today so a friend could work on his hatch. Figured I would snap a few pics while it was out and all the snow was melted off. Love it or hate it.

What was your car reading boost at idle?

Vey nice work. Not many people see how many hours of labor it takes to do the body work you just put into this car. I give you props for making it come out great...

 

Yeah the first boost gauge I installed must of been dropped or something. It was reading 6psi at idle. So I grabbed another one from a friend for 20 bucks and threw it in there. You can see in this set of pics it's at 0. I opened the other up and turned it back but I don't trust it. My gosh I don't even want to remember how much time I have in the rear 1/4. Royal pita! Thanks for all the support and compliments.

"Small update" I dropped the valve cover off to get welded yesterday. Should only be a few days.
