Re: SHG_Felliphe's EG Hatch Build Thread
On the way to NY the night before, I stopped by the homie Dina's place and we took my axles to get warrantied (used his warranty for the passengers side and the one I have for the drivers side). The passenger side I got is a new axle and the drivers is a rebuilt one. We wasted no time and with his power tools got them changed out in maybe 25mins total.
Big thanks to him offering not only his warranty but also changing it.

idk what the deal is in your area but there's always like 20-35$ used tires to get that will at least have some tread. I know money doesn't grow on trees and times can get tough but its always an option if need be

Lack of options lol. Yeah its about $25 for that sticker. Do it, makes a big difference.
Yeah thats very possible, I know my rotors aren't smooth but the wheel vibrates going just driving too. Could be all the other stuff but yeah you guys are probably right. I'm going to get new front rotors then. Rear rotors and pads are fine.
Peep the tires though

Not right now lol thanks.
Yep that one.
Update:
So I derped out... The Michelin X-Ice 2s were on a closeout sale with a $70 rebate on top so the size I needed got sold out.
I had to look into other options and luckily enough learned about another tire that was just as good albeit not having a debate or sale going on. I also went with a different size than the 195/55/15 that I had in mind. Luckily the price was MUCH better than the rest of the options so better tire for less money = win.
I just ordered a set of 185/60/15 General AltiMAX Artics. They are rated #1 on Tire Rack in the Studdable tire category while the X-Ice 2 was rated #1 in the Studless tire category. The Generals don't come studded unless you choose to for an extra $15 per tire. Studded is not for me due to all the noise they make and lower traction in dry, and Tire Rack did tests and found that studless works just as good if not better than studded. The only time studded tires had an advantage was on clear ice and even then it was marginal so absolutely no need for studs. While I did miss out on the X-Ice 2 offer, I am still getting just as good of a tire basically. For snow, you want a skinnier tire to cut through the snow better (think of a knife going through butter) so it works out good. The FireStone Winterforces were also available in the same size and the same price and that is also another great option but I went for the Generals as they appear to have some nice advantages (http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/roll-o...studdable-snow).
Anyways, they'll be here Wednesday.

My friend you disappoint me. After I change my axle's I have my buddy check my Alingment. An alingment after a major change like that should be high on the list to do. You are lucky nothing worse happened where you damaged the car or end up getting into a wreck. Saftey first then team work.

You'll like the winters you chose. I put them on my brothers VW GLI VR6 and they held that big fat turd in our Canadian winters. He just bought a brand new diesel Jetta that's getting the same tires. When my winter Civic needs new winters thats what its going to get...unless the Toyo's come down in price :p

You in theory are taking thing's apart and since I have a friend who does my alignment's I always have the front checked after any time I take the front apart. I also driver 1200 miles a week for my job, so is my toe is slightly off I will see wear on my tire's with then 4 day worth of driving. Better safe then sorry. He swapped his coil over's and didn't brother with it.

Yep, just waiting for it now. Have tried some extreme performance street tires and have an idea of what sick grip is like, now I see the other side of the spectrum, sick grip on snow! Can't wait.
