Thanks!
THanks Brice. Hoping to have the bottom end fully assembled within a couple weeks. I'm pretty busy during the weekdays and I'm trying to take my time with it to make sure it's done right
Much appreciated. May I ask why you hate painted motors?
thanks buddyyyy
thanks skank! i mean thanks
thanks matt, you already know you'll be the first to shoot it when it's done!
hahaha
hey guy
Thanks man! I'm pretty picky when it comes to painting stuff, and the motor was no different. I wanted a nice flat aluminum look that would look as good, if not better, than a brand new block. Pm'ing you some info
Haha you're silly. I L U
So uhh Tad, when are you launching full blown production of your custom...you know.. race part
Dang jeremy, you're still around?!
Better see you out there this summer!
Thank you sir!
Haven't gotten too much done this week because I've been really busy, but here's a small update.
Moved the motor inside to where it will be getting assembled.

Installed the oil squirters

I also started checking the gaps on the ringlands that came with my pistons but I didn't bother to take pictures of that. I'll be getting started on the "real work" this weekend, so look forward to some updates.

hey guy
The painted block looks amazing. I've been waiting to paint mine for the longest time, I just need to get my motor pulled.
If you don't mind me asking, what paint are you using. The results you got are EXACTLY what I have been looking for. I'm pretty sure I'll be using Seymour paints, but I'm still looking for options.
Amazing build!!!!!

Thanks for the good words!
Some of you might find this interesting so I thought I'd throw it up. It's a battery tray that I made a few weeks ago in my machine shop class. I might end up using it in the car.

I'm thinking about making a dead pedal for my car in a similar fashion as well.

Its started to rust already? Bring it to lab tomorrow and coat it in that dye until you decide if you want to use it. I still have my dyed on the inside and it hasnt starting rusting.

Haha ok!
It's just real light surface rust, it wipes off if I run my finger across it. I've had this thing sitting for weeks so.. I'm not really sweating it. I'll paint it or coat it with something when I'm ready to use it.

Unfortunately I didn't get much done this past weekend. I've been trying to hunt down a piston ring filer so I can gap my rings. It's the only thing holding me back from putting this thing together. Shooting to assemble the bottom end this Thursday.

I made a thread about some questions/concerns I have concerning my piston ring gaps. If any of you have experience building motors or have used RS Machines pistons / Hastings rings in the past, please check it out: https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/%2Aneed-verification-ring-gaps-before-final-assembly-engine-builders-chime-%2A-2543350/

*ninja edit* aww snaps POST #1000 playaz!!!!
looking sweet so far! Although I would have removed the oil dipstick tube, the block plugs on the back, and the block drain bolt while painting the block so that you'd have the original finish on those.
