Meet my new caR!

Haven't been able to sleep lately knowing this is coming, I'm super stoked. I can't wait until it's in my driveway. I've been wanting an Integra Type R for as long as I can remember. I used to ask my friend about this Type R all the time. Asking him to sell it to me, asking if he would part things out for my build, etc. He's always told me that I can buy it but I wasn't able to afford it at the time. The time has finally come and he was ready to sell heR to me. I can't even express how happy and excited I am.. UGH!


The car needs some TLC but nothing my Dad & I can't take care of. I was trying to wait until I've cleaned it up to post a picture but I'm just way too excited!

Thank you! It will be nothing special, if I can rebuild the original motor then it will be all stock except for a Comptech Ice Box & JDM ITR 4-1 Header (since the car comes with one). Other than that it'll be lowered and I also have all the CF interior pieces in my GS-R. I have no plans to remove anything off my GS-R so I sourced another set and all I need is the Shift Plate. Also I might take the UKDM ITR Tail Lights off my GS-R for the ITR.

So I cleaned heR up and she came out amazing, in my opinion. I'm very happy.

I washed the exterior but not thoroughly since it's just going to get dirty again. I only vacuumed the interior and wiped down the dash. When the caR is running I'll be cleaning the caR inside and out very well. I just wanted to get an idea on how it looked under all that dirt.

The caR was so slammed that my "low-profile" jack wouldn't fit under it lol. We raised it and tried to match the height of my GS-R. It's better than before and I can always go back and adjust it later.

I also removed the Benen tow hook it came with.

Shampooed the carpet and floor mats today.

I didn't do the seats because they didn't need to be done. I just wiped them down & brushed out some dry food or whatever lol. I'm super happy with the seats. The only issue I found was one snag on the driver seat. You can see it in the picture.

The passenger & rear floor mats came out great. The driver side mat is junk.

If anyone has a set of oem checkered ITR mats please let me know. I would prefer used in decent condition.

P.S. I took the Spoon Sports **** off to try it on my GS-R.

My plans right now are save my money to rebuild the current motor or buy a JDM ITR long block. I'm also looking for a USDM ITR Cat-Back.

So much for focusing on the ITR. Need to replace my fender, fender liner & tire. Luckily I have an extra pair of fenders. But still.

 

Damn man that is brutal with the lower ball joint, what exactly happened to make it pop out like that? Did the castle nut come off? Or did it completely break apart? Shitty deal none the less. Cars look great though, I'm a fan of this thread.

 

Yeah man huge bummer. The castle nut was gone but the cotter pin was still intact.

Man.... That gives me a knot in my stomach.. I'm sorry to see/hear that. I saw "...bumer.." in the lastest post and thought "oh ****, what happened?.." Hang in there man.

 

So next month we will probably start working on the R. We are planning to pull the motor and send it off to my Grandpa's friend who owns a machine shop. Same person we sent my GSR motor to. Not sure what we are going to do yet, but I still plan on keeping it mostly stock.

Where did you get your gunmetal wheels on your red GSR if you dont mind me asking? Ive been looking for them for a while for my GSR but cant find them anywhere.

 

I bought them from a friend in Texas who parted out and sold his Type R.

 

Both of your cars look great! Sorry to see the lower ball joint failure on the gsr. I've had it happen to me too. Luckily it looks like you weren't going very fast when it happened.

Had my JDM ITR key cut at Acura yesterday.

Today we replaced my lower ball joints and inner/outer tie rods. Also jimmy rigged my fender liner until I find a new one lol.

Sucks about the ballpoint... Did it just give out when you were driving? No noises or popping prior to it failing? Keep it up man, both cars look great and I'm loving the parts stash
