Hmm, im almost certain that the GSR brake setup is a bit larger than the OEM EG setup, which is why i bought it. With 500+WHP, i need all i can get to stop the car at the end of the 1/4 mile.

Updates coming tomorrow. Picked up the new wheels, mounting the tires, ect.

I talked to precision today and they gave me some good news and some bad news...

The bad news is that apparently a foreign object got sucked into the turbo on the exhaust side and messed up the turbine wheel as well as sent it out of balance, which only got worse over time. Their tech told me most likely its because i have a custom turbo manifold, a piece a slag left over from welding it all together got sucked into the turbo and destroyed it. He told me for the price it would cost to rebuild it, i might as well spend the extra $40 to get a whole new turbo.

The good news, since it is a very new turbo and the shop i had send it out to precision does a lot of business with them, their supervisor decided to cut me a break and warranty the turbo. Unfortunatley i wont be able to warranty it after this, im still happy i dont have to spend $750 on a different turbo.

It should be back here by friday, so i should be able to make the starve rock meet in central illinois

^^ As in paint? Id love to paint it, but it wont be for a while. I dont have enough time or money to do it now. Plus im more worried about fabricating my roll cage in time for next season so its track legal. I am gonna repaint the bumpers, buff the car and remove all the small dents i can.

New wheels arrived so i got to work.

I got a little distracted this past weekend. Painted my snowmobile hood and did a tranny swap on a friends B18B EG hatch.

I had a couple of fresh tires i kept as spares from my old hatch laying around that fit the wheels i bought, so i mounted them on the rear. Since this is a high HP street car, i knew i couldnt cheap out on the front tires.

Picked up a pair of MT ET street drag radials from a local shop for daily use.

I mounted them up and got them ready to install on the car...

Now that i had all the wheels and tires, i finished up the front brakes.

Unfortunately i had an issue with removing one of the old rotors off the spindles. The 2 screws that hold the rotor on the hub were frozen on, i got one removed, but the second would come off, it was bad enough that it rounded the head and broke the bit on my Mac impact driver. So i drilled the head out and left the rest in there since it was too small to use an easy out.

Once i got that out of the way, i got to work installing all the odds and ends.

^^ Shiny new hardware >.<

^^ Lubed up

New perfomance pads

Coated them with some disc brake quiet

ready for calipers...

Gotta make sure the hardware is clipped in correctly behind the caliper or else it will make noise.

SO now that the brakes are all together, i put the wheels and tires on the car and dropped it down on the ground once again.

Been a slow week. Only thing productive ive really done on the car was fixed a burnt out HID. Also had to deal with the hack job wiring for the left head light. Found out i have a bad ground on the left side, which is why the light wouldnt come on with the switch. Previous owner made its own power source that went through a fuse, so i freshened up the ground and hooked the wires up correctly, now everything comes on with the switch. Only other thing im having trouble with is i have a excessive resistance going to the left corner bulb, the light is very dim and blinks fast with the turn signal, even though i dont have any burnt out bulbs, so ill be tracing more wiring.

Tonight if i get the chance, ill be replacing the clutch master cylinder. I have a huge problem miss-shifting and i noticed i have some fluid leaking from inside the car at the clutch pedal, so hopefully that will fix the issue.

Car will be going back up on the dyno thursday. Having issues with the tune i believe, ever since the turbo was rebuilt, it stutters and over-boosts no matter what percentage i set in Kpro, so my tuner is gonna take a look at it and make sure the tune just needs a little frshening up since the rebuild and not some sort of mechanical failure...

Tuner fixed the overboosting issue, apparantly the GM boost solenoid went bad and wasnt working as it should, so it was replaced with a hondata solenoid.

Unfortunately im still having an issue with stuttering during spool up on a pull. It wasnt really occuring on the dyno, but out on the street it was more than noticeable. The tuner sent off my maps to a tech at hondata, havent heard back from them yet.

Here's the car today...

The other night, the flange to my oil return line on the turbo came loose from the turbo and basically fell off the turbo while i was driving. It lost a lot of oil, enough to trip the oil light on the dash, not solid, but flickered once or twice. I shut it off immediately, so hopefully i didnt do any damage. Ill fix it, drain the oil, refill it and start it up and check oil pressure.

Earlier this week i finally got my vanity plates in, but the secretary of state ****ed it up. It was supposed to be FASTEG6, this is what they sent me...

If the car was anything but white, this would **** me off, but i think im gonna just leave them as is haha

Plans for this week.

Once i fix the return line, ill be pulling the motor and trans and get ready to get to work on the engine bay. Full shave is in order. Every hole i dont need, big or small, will be removed and ill be repainting the entire bay. As well as my brake line tuck.

I'm not one to criticize but u could have simply bought a 11inch rotor and spacer from will wood which clear 15' amazingly or did the car have the 9 inch spindles which u changed for the 10.3' for other reasons?

just a question because i use an 11inch kit at the track and a 12.25 kit on the street

I know that kit would fit a 15" wheel, but i want to run a beefy slick for the track, which would mean id need a 13" or 14" drag wheel, which im almost positive wont fit with that kit either.

hahah that's what i was thinkin. Im just gonna keep the FASTEGG plates.
